Jason Villareal, PT, DPT, ATC
Rehab Director PDX Therapydia
We are excited to have Jay at Therapydia Portland as our professional partner providing physical therapy and sports rehab services for our Stumptown Crossfit athletes. A little background on Jay: He has worked as an athletic trainer for the past 15 years in the high school, collegiate and professional settings. His background in sports medicine carried over in his physical therapy career where he has worked for the past 9 years. As a physical therapist Jay has experience working with the youth athletic patient population including football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, rugby, tennis, golf, cross country, & track to name a few. Jay loves working with the weekend warrior patients and treats all patients as athletes regardless of age and athletic ability. Jay approaches each patient/client with the same critical thinking and systematic approach regardless of having worked with professional athletes from the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, MLS, ATP, runners, triathletes and Olympians. Jay has taken many continuing education courses but in his clinic he loves working with high-speed analysis to objectively analyze high-speed mobility such as running, cutting or Crossfit Olympics movements. Jay’s goals are to get people moving effectively, symmetrically and pain free as quickly as possible.
In regards to Crossfit Jay got his certification as a Level 1 Crossfit Coach January of 2014, coached and did WODs while he was living in Coos Bay, OR for the past 2-3 years. Jay has treated many Crossfit athletes and has the ability to make quick and positive changes to not only get you back in the box but moving more efficiently. You may see Jay working out with the 5:30 am crew or at other times based on the work schedule at Therapydia Portland.
